The “Customer Spotlight” shines a light on DocuSign customers who are benefiting from digitising their business processes with electronic signatures.
From the French subsidiary of Gazprom Energy, Ali Fenjiro explained how this leading energy supplier transformed its sales process by improving the customer experience. DocuSign and its native integration with Salesforce were chosen: more flexibility, mobility, responsiveness and security for every transaction.
Can you tell us a bit about Gazprom Energy?
Gazprom Energy is a subsidiary of Gazprom, a gas and natural energy provider. In France, our main activity is the retail of natural gas for businesses.
How did electronic signatures come to be implemented?
The electronic signature project started because we wanted to improve our customer experience. Our processes were very manual, based on faxing and scanning, and some customers were unable to sign documents quickly as they weren’t in their office. So, we wanted to improve the experience by adding flexibility and allowing people to get more responsive. It is key in the energy market, where prices often fluctuate. Some opportunities have to be seized when they show up and DocuSign’s electronic signature solution really enables us to react according to the market effects.
How is Gazprom Energy using DocuSign exactly?
We first launched DocuSign for the telesales team and are now looking to extend it very soon to the direct sales and channel teams, with the aim of digitising all of Gazprom Energy’s sales processes.
Why did you choose DocuSign to help you overcome these challenges?
We chose DocuSign for several reasons. Firstly, it is the electronic signature solution that has the best integration with Salesforce. It is also intuitive, both for our internal users as well as for our customers, and very easy to use.
It is also the most well know solution in the world, having a particularly strong presence in France thanks to the fusion of DocuSign and OpenTrust.
Can you describe the results has Gazprom Energy experienced with electronic signatures?
Our investment in DocuSign’s solution enabled us to reduce the contract turnaround time from a few days, with paper, to a few hours. It also helped us to reduce the costs associated with paper and add security to the sales process. Thanks to ID checking with SMS, we can reassure our customers while helping us to verify their identity.
